In the body camera footage, a suspect is seen drawing a handgun and telling an Oklahoma City police officer that he was going to shoot him.

Recently released body camera footage shows a tense moment for an Oklahoma police officer when a suspect pointed a gun at him.

The incident happened at about 8:15 p.m. Dec. 8 as Oklahoma City Andrew Ash was responding to a disturbance call at an apartment complex, KOCO-TV reports. The officer was approaching a suspect when that man drew a handgun.

In the video, the suspect points the gun at Ash, who tells the man several times not to fire. As the suspect says he's going to shoot the officer, Ash moves backward and trips over stairs.

When Ash falls, his gun goes off, and the suspect escaped to an apartment. That led to an hourslong standoff, which ended with the suspect's surrender and arrest.

No one was injured in the incident.
